Oncogynecology Center

KazIOR

The Oncogynecology Center provides patients with comprehensive, highly personalized, rapid, and convenient services through an integrated system, where diagnostics, treatment, consultations, and surgical interventions are centralized.

The Center serves as a leading clinical and research hub, implementing modern standards for the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors of the female reproductive system, combined with active scientific research and the application of innovative technologies.

The Center runs a continuous postgraduate education program aimed at enhancing the qualifications of practicing physicians in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of gynecologic cancer. This program is implemented through mentorship by the specialists of the Oncogynecology Center. Training is also provided to resident doctors specializing in adult and pediatric oncology and adult and pediatric obstetrics and gynecology.

The Center’s specialists regularly conduct offsite master classes for physicians from regional oncological dispensaries across Kazakhstan.

The Oncogynecology Center is a member of international organizations dedicated to the study and treatment of gynecologic cancers, such as The International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS, USA) and The European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO). Collaboration with these leading global communities is actively developing: monthly tumor boards are held together with international experts to determine management strategies for Kazakhstani patients, online consultations are organized, and histopathological specimens are reviewed at leading centers in Italy and the Netherlands.

The physicians of the Oncogynecology Center continuously enhance their qualifications in Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Russia, and China.

Thanks to the Center’s team-based approach, high five-year survival rates are consistently achieved for patients with gynecologic neoplasms.

Multidisciplinary Approach. The Center regularly conducts in-hospital clinical consilia to determine patient management strategies. This format ensures the integration of various oncologic specialties, continuity of care, and high treatment effectiveness.
Accessibility of Medical Care. Treatment is provided under State Guaranteed Medical Care, Mandatory Social Health Insurance, as well as on a private basis. This ensures access to medical services for different patient groups while maintaining a high level of care quality. The Center is equipped with modern facilities and provides comfortable accommodations.
Number of Beds: 50
Medical Therapy. Individualized regimens of chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy are selected depending on the tumor’s biological phenotype. This approach follows the principles of personalized oncology and allows achieving high treatment efficacy in accordance with modern international standards.
Surgery. Since August 2019, the Center has successfully been performing Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) for advanced ovarian cancer, including serous and mucinous carcinoma, pseudomyxoma, and primary peritoneal carcinoma.
Ultrastaging is performed for endometrial and cervical carcinomas using indocyanine green (ICG) to detect regional sentinel lymph nodes. This approach helps reduce the risk of surgical complications, such as lymphedema, lymphorrhea, and functional disorders of pelvic organ innervation.
Particular attention is given to organ-preserving methods for women of reproductive age. Thanks to this approach, dozens of patients have been able to achieve their goals of motherhood and give birth to healthy children.
The Center’s surgical practice encompasses optimal, radical, and reconstructive methods for treating malignant neoplasms related to women’s health.
Radiation therapy. The Oncogynecology Center provides comprehensive treatment for gynecologic malignancies, including modern radiation therapy techniques. The primary group of patients consists of newly diagnosed individuals with locally advanced tumors.
Advanced technologies are used in the treatment process, including:
● Online Adaptive Radiotherapy (ART) with elements of artificial intelligence, which allows for individualized treatment planning based on real-time anatomical changes;

● Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), ensuring highly accurate dose delivery while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues;

● High-dose-rate (HDR) 3D brachytherapy, aimed at delivering a locally intensified dose to the tumor area while maximally sparing surrounding organs.

Radiation therapy is administered either as a standalone treatment or in combination with systemic therapy (chemotherapy and/or targeted agents), enhancing effectiveness in locally advanced disease.
