Currently, the Operating Unit has 10 modern operating rooms, each equipped with all necessary support and auxiliary facilities. The scheduled surgery rooms feature supply-and-exhaust ventilation systems, centralized medical gas and vacuum systems. The unit utilizes advanced surgical lighting, versatile operating tables, high-frequency electrosurgical devices, portable suction units, and air sterilization systems.
In recent years, minimally invasive techniques have been implemented, including video-assisted endoscopic surgeries, procedures through mini-access points, microsurgical, and reconstructive-plastic operations. Electrosurgical and argon plasma technologies are widely used, along with modern mechanical suturing devices.
The surgical unit also serves as a training base for specialists: dozens of surgeons from regional oncology centers have completed internships, and hundreds of students and residents have combined their studies with practical experience. Masterclasses and live surgery broadcasts with international participation are held regularly.
The surgical unit is the "heart" of the surgical hospital. It is here that the main stage of patient treatment—the surgery—is performed, and the quality of its execution largely determines the final outcome.
Today, the surgical unit of JSC "KazIOR" is a modern center for the implementation of advanced technologies in oncological surgery. Here, complex reconstructive and simultaneous operations are performed, clinical trials are conducted, and new treatment methods are introduced.
In the future, the surgical unit team plans to expand the range of high-tech operations, strengthen international collaboration, and reinforce KazIOR’s position as a leading center for oncological surgery in Central Asia.
