Center for Molecular and Genetic Research

KazIOR

Main Equipment:

  • PCR Amplifier Rotor-Gene Q
  • Automated PCR Diagnostics System Idylla Biocartis
  • Real-Time PCR System Genter-48
  • COBAS z 480 and COBAS x 480 systems for screening
  • NanoDrop One C Spectrophotometer

The Center for Molecular and Genetic Research performs the following tests for oncology patients: molecular genetic analysis of KRAS, BRAF, and EGFR gene mutations using DNA from FFPE blocks; detection of mutant alleles in JAK2, MPL, and CALR genes in genomic DNA from blood.

As part of diagnostic and research projects, the Center may also perform:
molecular genetic analysis of PIK3CA gene mutations using DNA from FFPE blocks; analysis of FGFR3 gene mutations and fusions using RNA derived from FFPE blocks; molecular genetic assessment of microsatellite instability (MSI) by PCR using DNA from FFPE blocks; as well as detection of high-risk HPV from cervical epithelial cell scrapings.

Digital PCR

Main Equipment: QIAcuity One, 5plex, Real-Time Digital PCR Instrument.

For patients with lung cancer, molecular genetic analysis of the T790M gene mutation is performed using circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in blood via digital PCR.

Sequencing

Main Equipment:

  • Sequencer MiniSeq Illumina
  • High-Throughput Sequencing System NextSeq 550
  • Spectrophotometer Qubit 4
  • Automated Electrophoresis System TapeStation 4150 (G2992AA)

As part of diagnostic and research projects, the following sequencing-based analyses are performed: molecular genetic analysis of BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations using DNA from whole blood and FFPE blocks; assessment of HRD (Homologous Recombination Deficiency) status using DNA from FFPE blocks; comprehensive molecular tumor profiling using targeted panels: AmpliSeq for Illumina Focus Panel and AmpliSeq for Illumina Comprehensive Panel v3

Immunophenotyping

Main Equipment:

  • Flow Cytometer DxFlex

For hematology patients, the following analyses are performed:

  • IFT, AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia)
  • IFT, B-cell ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia)
  • IFT, B-cell Chronic Lymphoproliferative Disorder
  • IFT, CD34 Stem Cell Determination
  • IFT, T-cell ALL
  • IFT, Multiple Myeloma
  • IFT, T-cell Chronic Lymphoproliferative Disorder

Cytogenetic Studies

Main Equipment:

  • Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) based on the GenASIs platform with Slide Scanner All-in-One for 9 slides
  • Microscope Olympus BX63

For hematology patients, the following analyses are performed: standard karyotyping of bone marrow; FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) for ALL, CML, AML, CLL, MM, MDS using various probes
